Cancer: Treatment Ways, Causes, Varieties, and Metastasis

   Cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases which causes lots of deaths around the world.



   It means "uncontrolled growth of tissue in some part of the human body". Also referred to as a "tumour" 

  In 2012, 14.1 million people had cancer which is the top number for one year. Unfortunately, 8.2 million patient died because of cancer. With these many deaths, scientists took action to solve this really significant problem. They tried to find new treatment way. 

   Scientists wanted to understand the cancer metastasis with background knowledge. Stephen Paget, James Ewing and more helped to understand the metastasis.

🔵 Radiation
🔵 Viruses
🔵 Alcohol
🔵 Diet
🔵 Tobacco

 ðŸ”¶ Cancer has many varieties but 5 ones are the most common type:
🔴 Breast
🔴 Prostate 
🔴 Lung 
🔴 Colon 
🔴 Stomach

  🔶 The Cancer Metastasis Process:
            

1- Primary Tumour Growth: Cancer begins to grow at one point. 

2- Angiogenesis: The tumour can grow to more than a millimetre in size, if it finds new blood vessels. It tries to find new pathways to spread the cancer.

3- Mesenchymal Transition (EMT): In this step, the cancer cell is more dynamic than ever had. 

4 and 5- Invasion and Intravasation: Cancer cells invade the tissue and break through the blood vessel wall to move other organs.

6- Survival In Circulation: They have to escape detection by the immune system's cells for surviving.

7- Extravasation: If cancer cells survive in blood vessels, they break through the blood vessel again to reach the new organ tissue.

8- Dormancy: This last step is really similar to the first step. Cancer cells can live without any problems for the patient. However, one-day cancer cells will try to spread again the cancer.

   Crucial Note:  After cancer spreads to another organ, it is still called to as a primary cancer organ.

   Some treatment ways are helping the patient to get rid of the cancer. Chemotherapy is the most common treatment way for reducing cancer cells number. However, it has a few dangerous effects of human:
⚪ Having weakness immune system
⚪ Nausea
⚪ Hair Loss
⚪ Affecting healthy cells badly
   If you ask me, happiness is the most powerful treatment for cancer patients. If they believe that they are stronger than the cancer, they will definitely fight the cancer with happiness.

   These years, the number of cancer cases is decreasing. In 2019, the number of new cases is 1.762.450 and the number of deaths is 606.880. 2019 is far better than 2012 in terms of having patients and deaths. I hope that one-day cancer will not a big problem anymore.
