Meditation: The Scientific Path To Find Yourself

 

                Meditation is such a consciousness-changing technique that shown to have many benefits on humanity in terms of psychological. In history, there is no certain proof how meditation start or who meditate first? Across the world, meditation is practiced in numerous religious traditions. According to research, the earliest records of meditation are found in the ancient Hindu texts that affects Hinduism and Buddhism. In Hinduism meditation as a spiritual exercise to remove ignorance and to acquire knowledge. What about other people?

                                     


                The exact question is “Why people needed meditation?”. One brief example might clarify that when you were five years of age, how joyful you were? And today how joyful you are? When we get aged, negative problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, pain and more follow us. Meditation helps to tackle all those problems because it changes our brain waves (Alpha waves). It decreases anxiety, depression, anger, rumination, sadness, and others.

 

                According to a research, after 8 weeks of meditation program, gray matter was denser in areas associated with learning memory processing and emotion regulation. It helps to rewire our neural circuits. Just 15 minutes a day of doing meditation, human mind can also alter its cell functions.

                Table-1 shows that breaths per minute are related to life span. If we reduce the number of breaths, organs save their energy and work better than ever.

 

                There are several types of meditation, but 7 ones are stand out:

Ø  Loving-Kindness Meditation,

Ø  Body Scan Meditation,

Ø   Mindfulness Meditation,

Ø  Breathe Awareness Meditation,

Ø  Zen Meditation,

Ø   Transcendental Meditation,

Ø  Mantra Meditation.

 

The basic process of doing meditation is:

1)      Selecting a quiet and fresh place that is free of environmental distractions,

2)      Setting a time limit (if you are the beginner one),

3)      Paying attention to your pose,

Ø  Shoulders upright,

Ø  Diaphragm is active,

Ø  Hands are open,

Ø  Spinal Cord is ready to feel.

4)      Focusing on breathing,

Ø  The basic rule is inhaling for 4 seconds, holding for 6 seconds, and exhaling for 8 seconds tightly.

5)     Noticing your thoughts,

Ø  Accept your thoughts and just noticing them as thoughts and not giving them power.

 

On the report of 2017 Harvard Medical School Study, after meditating 15 minutes daily for 2 months, meditators changed 172 genes that control crucial functions. That result shows meditation can also cure several disorders.

 

In conclusion, meditation is such a great part of our lives because it helps us in every aspect.  It is a historical practice that is still working and saving one’s lives. Please start meditating daily to get a new and better life.
